Rev. Fr. P.M.Zachariah (Vicar & President)

    Achen was born in 1935 at Theverkattil House, Vayalathala, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India. He graduated from Union Christian College at Alwaye in 1956 and attained his B.Ed. Degree in 1958 from Mar Theophilos Training College, Trivandrum. In 1954, His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese II, Catholicose of the East, ordained Achen to the Diaconate at Parumala Seminary. Achen went on to serve the church relentlessly for 10 years for the progress of the Youth movement. By God's grace, His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese II ordained Achen to the holy priesthood in 1964, at Devalokam Catholicate Aramana Chapel in Kottayam.

Achen went on to spend nearly thirty years as a teacher and Principal at Corporate Management schools in our church and also served as the Vicar of several churches in the Thumpamon and Kerala Dioceses. He retired from Catholicate High School, in Pathanamthitta as the Principal in 1990, and arrived in the U.S. in 1992. For 12  years from 1993 to 2005, Achen served at St. Paul’s Orthodox Church and also served at St. Thomas Malankara Orthodox Church in Oakland park, South Florida for 2 years. Achen is currently serving as the Vicar of St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Chruch in Tampa, Florida. Looking back on life, Achen remarks: "I continually praise the Lord for all his ineffable blessings that he has showered upon me for all these years and for the years to come. May the blessings of Almighty God and the intercession of St. Mary, the Mother of God, be with us always."
